Usually, people travel from small towns to big cities like Delhi or Kanpur for better medical treatment. But a recent case at Primax Gastro Institute & Super Speciality Hospital has shown a “Reverse Trend.”
A family traveled all the way from Kanpur to Sonipat to save their mother from a major surgery, and they went back home happy the very same day.
This story is about a 60-year-old woman whose treatment failed in a big hospital in Kanpur but was successfully completed in just 15 minutes by Dr. Nitin Gupta in Sonipat.
The patient, a resident of Kanpur, had a painful problem. A stone from her gallbladder had slipped down and gotten stuck in her Bile Duct (the tube that connects the liver to the intestines).

Dr. Gupta successfully removed the stuck stone using endoscopy in just 15 to 20 minutes. There were no cuts, no stitches, and no pain.
The patient was so well that she ate lunch a few hours later and was discharged from the hospital that same afternoon.
This case highlights that expert medical care is no longer limited to big metro cities.
Dr. Nitin Gupta explained that treatments in Sonipat are now available at 50% of the cost compared to Delhi, but with the same high quality.
“In big Delhi hospitals, patients often feel lost in the crowd,” Dr. Gupta said. “Here, they get personal care, lower costs, and the same expert treatment. That is why patients are now coming from big cities to Sonipat, instead of the other way around”.
For Akash and his mother, the trip was worth it. They avoided a painful surgery and returned to Kanpur with a smile.
